Spring time in Wyoming

I thought this photo of a lone car on I80, just west of Vedauwoo, courtesy of WYDOT (Wyoming Department of Transportation), did a pretty good job of showing what our spring time weather was like today. Nice!

By the way, for the non-locals that visit this site, that's you California and Wisconsin people, Vedauwoo (Vee-Da-Voo) is about 35 miles west of Cheyenne.

Update from 10:27 PM

A friend of mine in the midwest who read the post had this response...

"Now that's what spring is all about for you cowboys out west. I'm driving with the top down already."

What a guy. I don't think I can convince him to come shovel my drive in the morning.

Where's the Daisy news?

Hey! What's the deal here? There hasn't been a Daisy update in ages! This is not cool mom and dad! Yes, I know a new member of the family is on the way and everything is on track for one healthy boy, but c'mon. This is ridiculous! humph! People need their Daisy fix. Suppose I'll do it for them.

Anyway, mom's doing well, the baby is doing well, but most importantly I'm turning out to be a super kid who's walking and talking even better then dad. lol. I can't wait to meet my new brother who I'm sure will be a superstar just like his sweet, big sister - me. I think that's it for now. Oh, I almost forgot! I went to Cheyenne's only beach the other day and learned not only do I like sand now, but I couldn't resist trying to play with the ducks in the lake. I couldn't believe it though when mom and dad pulled me away. It was a major bummer to say the least. I guess I'll just need to wait until it's warmer. By the way, I'll see if one of my poor, tired, old parents can post next time.

Until then, enjoy the pic I personally selected for my first post.

Harmon Hubbard on eBay

Over the weekend I missed out on a chance to own a piece of Harmon Hubbard related history. On eBay, an individual was auctioning off an 1864 Civil War Muster Roll 119th Regiment Illinois Inf. This particular Regiment just so happened to be that of Civil War Lieutenant Harmon R. Hubbard. The auction closed on Sunday with a winning bid of $47.79. I do have a copy of the muster report courtesy of the State of Illinois, but this would have made a nice addition to the Hubbard collection. Maybe next time.
