WORK EXPERIENCE

Lead User Interface Designer on checkout redesign efforts for core product suite including Express Checkout and Web site Payment Standard merchant solutions for both domestic and international customer base. Primary focus included building designs to meet rapidly growing customer, merchant and business needs. Oversaw development of user interface and experience throughout product life cycle including: ideation, prototyping, usability testing, hi-fidelity comps, documentation, testing and go live. Success metrics for project including conversion and user-task completion rates were exceeded. Additional responsibilities included mentoring junior designers, continual peer review of own work and teammates and product innovation. A team member of the Merchant Solutions vertical.

Responsible for customer experience from ideation to implementation, on both proprietary software interfaces and customer-facing web products in a global, retail eCommerce environment. Primary focus involves implementing executive-level strategy into usable online experiences by collaborating with business analysts, IS counterparts and impacted departments all within a user-centered methodology. Additional tasks include socialization and implementation of designs, mentoring and collaboration with UI peers and continue refinement of design process.

First employee hired at start-up dedicated to providing online tools for the horticultural industry. Designed and implemented online experience for a client-configurable B2C product and a separate B2B solution for green industry businesses. Also hired and oversaw two junior designers and one graphic designer. All intellecutal properties now owned by Summerwinds Garden Centers and Monrovia.

Original designer of prototype web site used in acquiring start-up funding. Eventually headed up design team tasked with creating dynamic community based web sites that was both easy to use for the consumer and from an internal administrative standpoint. Also hired and oversaw one web designer and one graphic designer.

Redesigned local community college web site. Captured requirements by interviewing impacted departments, crafted experience based on said requirements and socialized final design to Presidential committee.
